Nationwide evaluation of the Safer Streets Fund

I have worked on number of high profile, nationwide evaluations whilst working as a Senior Researcher at the Home Office.

Safer Streets Fund Evaluations – I worked on the nationwide Safer Streets Fund evaluation as a Senior Researcher and funder. We evaluated policing initiatives that helped reduce crime in public spaces, from the impact of street lighting, to having more police on the streets.

Reducing vehicle theft: I worked on an innovative behaviour change project using statistics to change people’s behaviour to lock their vehicles and stop car theft in the UK.

Research and evaluation on UK sentencing guidelines

Ministry of Justice – We assessed sentencing guidelines for judges & magistrates to make sure offenders were getting the right prison/community sentence and that nobody was in prison for longer than necessary.

Centre for Mental Health – As a senior researcher we identified key failings in the criminal justice system that led many offenders to miss out on vital mental health treatment at each stage of the criminal justice system.

Policy evaluation on Violence against Women and Girls

Violence against Women and Girls has been one of the leading priorities in tackling crime in the UK over the recent years.

I worked on several evaluations at the Home Office that were aimed at reducing violence against women and girls. From assessing the impact of policing interventions, environmental as well as education and awareness raising.
